Expressing that Skywell is preparing to produce electric cars in Turkey, Ulubaş said that this point has been reached as a result of two years of intensive negotiations and studies.
Stating that the brand will offer 7 models for sale in Europe in the next five years, Ulubaş said, “Along with these 7 models, we have made great progress in the production of 2 models in Turkey. We are already carrying out the process through the Presidential Investment Office. We continue it together with the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Incentive package.” “Our negotiations for the project are continuing. We plan to apply by the end of December. We are currently about to complete the investment feasibility study requested by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Following this, we will start investing.” he said.
Stating that a total investment of 1.6 billion dollars is planned, including the construction of the factory with a production capacity of 150 thousand, battery investment and R&D, Ulubaş said, “We have made great progress in choosing which province the factory will be in. Stating that Skywell has plans to expand globally to Europe and that the main target market for the factory planned to be established in Turkey is thought to be Europe, Ulubaş concluded his words as follows:
“We predict that the 10 percent customs duty in Europe will increase to around 20 percent. We informed the Skywell side about this. In this way, we have brought the investment process to a certain point. Europe is actually the main target market here, but Turkey will also be included in it. So, our goal is exports are here. We will be offering services, which we call subscription services, not only on the automotive side, but also on the battery and software side of the vehicle, to Europe through Turkey.
